Boca Grande is a charming village located on Gasparilla Island, a seven mile long island on the southwest gulf coast of Florida between Sarasota and Fort Myers. The name Boca Grande means “big mouth” in Spanish, referring to deep Boca Grande Pass which separates Gasparilla from Cayo Costa Island, and Charlotte Harbor from the Gulf of Mexico. Boca Grande Pass is one of Florida’s deepest natural inlets and “Tarpon capital of the world.” A bicycle path runs the length 0f Gasparilla Island..
